Tuesday’s elections saw a massive tidal wave against the Obama Administration’s government overreach – particularly in the area of energy and the environment.  The U.S. Senate changed parties, and the GOP in the U.S. House extended their majority.  With the new Congress poised to bring sanity back to federal energy and environment policies, the Energy & Environment Legal Institute (E&E Legal) yesterday joined sixty-five other organizations – led by the American Energy Alliance – in calling on the U.S. Congress to reject any attempts to extend the Wind Production Tax Credit (PTC), which expired at the end of 2013.

In a joint letter to Speaker of the House John Boehner and Minority Leader (for now) Mitch McConnell of the U.S. Senate, the sixty-six signees said:

During the lame duck session, one of the top priorities for President Obama and Majority Leader Reid is the passage of a tax extenders package that includes a retroactive extension of the decades old wind production tax credit (PTC). The PTC is a key part of President Obama and Majority Leader Reid’s attack on affordable energy from natural gas, coal, and nuclear. We urge you to reject any attempt to revive the PTC.
