Washington, D.C. – With the one-year anniversary on Wednesday of the now infamous press conference with Al Gore by ‘Climate RICO’ Attorney Generals, announcing a campaign using their law enforcement offices against political opponents of the “climate” agenda, it appears that only two of the original twenty state attorneys general dare claim any interest in pursuing the scheme that was outed in great part by the Energy & Environment Legal Institute’s (E&E Legal’s) open records campaign exposing the matter.

E&E Legal continues its efforts today and tomorrow, arguing in Vermont today against that state’s Office of Attorney General — which co-founded the scheme along with New York’s Eric Schneiderman. Tomorrow morning, E&E Legal seeks release in a Manhattan courtroom of records which already show the involvement of major party donors and outside activists, who Schneiderman’s office effectively argues he deputized in a law enforcement investigation against political opponents.

WHAT: Matthew Hardin, lead attorney for E&E Legal, will argue in Vermont today regarding the public’s right to see records relating to AGs sharing information with outside parties pursuant to a contract between them, which they called a Common Interest Agreement (CIA) but which meets none of the requirements to be a valid CIA.  Hardin will also argue in Manhattan tomorrow seeking certain, admitted (by NY OAG) documents shared between the Rockefeller Fund, and Fahr LLC, and the New York Office of Attorney General (NY OAG).  Today, Francis Mention argues in Manhattan over nearly one hundred records the court has reviewed in camera, including one email with many attachments about his investigation which NY OAG admits it disclosed to AG Schneiderman’s fundraiser, thereby presumably waiving any claimed privilege.

“The fact that we must use valuable resources to navigate a cumbersome legal process to obtain records that should have been released without question is an indication that those involved in the ‘Climate RICO’ campaign have something to hide,” said Hardin.  “We will continue using every legal avenue available to secure the release of the information the public has a right to see.”
