Washington, D.C. — According to an internal U.S. Senate e-mail, as covered yesterday by the Daily Caller, today at 6:00 p.m. Senator Jeanne Shaheen is scheduled for her turn to take to the U.S. Senate floor as part of a major donor-driven campaign to attempt to silence ‘climate change’ dissenters.  Sen. Shaheen has drawn The Energy & Environment Legal Institute (E&E Legal) and the Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI) as her two targets, according to an internal schedule.

Following is statement from Craig Richardson, E&E Legal’s Executive Director, in response to Sen. Shaheen’s scheduled U.S. Senate floor time:

“Americans are struggling to find work, the national debt is skyrocketing, trade deficits are ballooning, our rural areas are besieged with a heroin epidemic, and racial tensions are reaching a boiling point. So how do 19 Senators decide to devote two days of official business?  Why, join in using the Senate to stage a fundraising stunt, of course, managing to at the same time both satisfy their party’s biggest campaign donor and remind us of why there is historic anger at Washington.

“Sen. Shaheen drew the straw of weaving E&E Legal into their tapestry of bogeyman responsible for their own failure to impose a harmful and even cruel agenda through the proper democratic process, no doubt still upset at our report having exposed her illusion with the Sierra Club to push this ‘climate’ agenda.   Their failure to convince the public to accept their scheme is surely frustrating to Sen. Shaheen, Sierra Club, her colleagues and of course their financial benefactor.  We are confident, however, that the Constitution has no exemption for the politically frustrated, or for campaigns really, really wanted by a party’s major donors.”
