In a makeshift convention hall adjacent to the UN’s official site for the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference (Cop 21), NGOs, and corporate sponsors showed off the latest ‘sustainable’ technologies and had other fancy presentations in display areas.  One such exhibit included a charging station that featured seats where participants were invited to plug in their cell phones and peddle away in order to provide the necessary energy.

I decided to give it a spin, as this video demonstrates.  While I received a good workout, the peddling device wasn’t so practical in the end as it took approximately 5 minutes to charge my cell phone by 2%.  Doing the math, that’s over 4 hours to fully charge your phone from 0-100%!
